Gary Jones

Gary Jones

Gary Jones brings a wealth of executive experience to Ingrain, having served most recently as the president of WesternGeco, the world's largest geophysical services company, and well logging services giant Baker Atlas. Jones began his career as a seismologist for Western Geophysical, rising through the business ranks at Western Atlas when the firm joined with Dresser Atlas. Jones holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in geophysics from the University of Arizona.

Paul Ching

Paul Ching

Paul Ching comes to Ingrain's Board of Directors following a three-decade career with Royal Dutch Shell. Prior to his retirement in 2007, he held several senior-executive positions, including his most recent role as vice president of technical research and development for Shell International E&P in the Netherlands. Ching's extensive professional experience includes work on and offshore, domestically and abroad. From the late 1980s through the early 1990s, Ching served as the division production manager for Royal Dutch Shell. Ching earned a B.S. in mathematics from Northern State University and an M.Sc. in geological engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.

Helge Tveit

Helge Tveit

Helge Tveit serves Ingrain as a director and is the president of the Houston office of Energy Ventures, a venture fund management company. Tveit formerly served as an executive advisor to BP Norway and as a planning director and senior economist for Amoco, where he managed projects in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Russia. He also offers experience as a reservoir engineer/workover engineer with expertise in planning and implementing well intervention operations in addition to reserves estimation and prediction. Tveit holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and an MSc. Petroleum Engineering (NTH/NTNU).

Amos Nur

Director & Chief Technology Officer

Amos Nur

Dr. Amos Nur joins Ingrain as a director and chief technology officer following his retirement in 2008 from nearly four decades in rock physics research at Stanford University.

Dr. Nur helped found Ingrain in 2007 after working with his colleagues in the Stanford's Rock Physics and Borehole project to create the patented numerical methods behind the company's technology. In addition to founding the Stanford Rock Physics project in 1977, Dr. Nur has served as the Wayne Loel Professor of Earth Sciences since 1988. Throughout his career, Dr. Nur has conducted critical research in 3-D and 4-D seismic imaging and is widely considered to be one of the world's top academic authorities on rock physics. He holds a B.S. in geology from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and a Ph.D. in geophysics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Henrique Tono

Henrique Tono

Dr. Henrique Tono co-founded Ingrain in 2007 with Dr. Amos Nur, serving as the company's CEO and a member of the board of directors. Dr. Tono, who has a strong background in international negotiations and operations, has founded several successful energy related companies, including Gaps, Drift, and La Luna Oil Company based in Colombia. Dr. Tono holds a B.Sc. from University of California, Santa Barbara, an M.Sc. from Stanford University, and a Ph.D. from Duke University, all in geophysics.
