Webinar: How does SEM Based Porosity Compare to GRI Porosity?

The thermal maturation process converts solid organic matter to hydrocarbons, creating pore space that is hydrocarbon filled. It follows that the greater the fraction of the porosity that is organic-hosted (PAOM), the greater the oil or gas in place.

One key advantage of SEM based porosity analysis for shales is that it can be used to quantify different pore types (PAOM, inter and intragranular). Learn how multi-resolution SEM analysis compares to traditional lab measurements and can lead to more accurate rock characterization.

We will also review Ingrain’s newly developed methodology which propagates digital rock properties from a small subsample to a larger sample via fabric recognition and mathematical models.
