HGS Applied Geoscience Conference (AGC)

Join our oral presentation entitled "Investigation of New Production Targets in the Springer Shale within the South Central Oklahoma Oil Province (SCOOP) Utilizing the Latest Digital Rock Anaysis Techniques". The presentation will be given by Bryan Guzman, Geoscience Advisor, during the HGS Applied Geoscience Conference (AGC) on March 7th

For this study, over 146ft of whole core was acquired where 32 plug samples were cut to be run through tight rock analysis (TRA) and 10 plugs for digital rock analysis (DRA).  Samples were compared using multi-dimensional clustering analysis on both wireline and whole core CT data.  The objective was to create a multi-scale approach to ensure all rock heterogeneity was accounted for.  This workflow would ultimately yield a rock properties model which could then be used to better understand the distribution minerals, porosity, and organic material.
