SPE Reservoir Characterisation and Simulation Conference and Exhibition

Mr Avrami Grader, Ingrain's CTO & Chief Scientist will be participating as a panel speaker for Panel Session 2: Reservoir Characterization Challenges and Opportunities.

We will be also presenting the technical work titled "Quantitative Study of Formation Vertical Permeability in Middle East Thalassinoides Burrowed Carbonate Mudstone":

Abstract
Vertical and horizontal permeabilities and Kv/Kh ratios are presented as a function of Thalassinoides burrow volume fractions for a burrowed mudstone interval of a major Middle East carbonate reservoir using a new workflow that integrates physical and digital core analysis processes.
Quantifying the T-burrowed and mudstone composite system requires a new workflow integrating standard laboratory procedures and digital core analysis. The Kv/Kh ratios for these layers are a very important input to waterflood reservoir simulation.

"Upscaled Permeability and Rock Types in a Heterogeneous Carbonate Core from the Middle East":

Abstract
Determination of Reservoir Rock Types (RRT) is one of the main parameters in the process of reservoir modelling and simulation. In carbonate reservoirs, the rock typing process is challenging due to multi-scale heterogeneity with varying pore types and complex microstructures. The objective in this paper is to select representative samples from a heterogeneous core (350 feet) and establish unique reservoir rock types as well as model permeability along the entire core length based on textural analysis, geological interpretations and petrophysical measurements.

Avrami Grader Chief Scientist

Dr. Avrami Grader is an expert in multi-phase flow in porous media and formerly a professor at PennState in the Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering. Dr. Grader’s research focused on two- and three-phase flow in porous media, transient pressure analysis with its effect on well testing and on reservoir engineering water influx problems, and multi-phase flow dynamics in the near wellbore domain including wellbore mechanics. He has provided consulting services in the field of X-ray CT imaging and image processing and analysis, including work in Germany, Brazil and the U.S. Dr. Grader holds a Ph.D. in petroleum engineering from Stanford University and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers of AIME. He also is author or co-author of 45 referred articles and/or published bound proceedings.
