Job Description

Ingrain Inc. is a digital rock physics lab that provides rock characterization technology for all rock types. Our workflows provide accurate rock physics properties in challenging reservoirs in a fraction of the time associated with conventional laboratories. Using our proprietary computations, we can determine the full range of dynamic rock fluid flow properties.
The Geologist will be required to:

  • Execute our Digital Rock Physics workflows consistently and accurately resulting in high quality deliverables for clients
  • Meet targeted goals set by the team/project manager
  • Work within the conventional or unconventional teams providing expert professional assistance to the team lead, operations manager and other technical teams
  • Apply a range of geologic knowledge and skills when actively involved in sample preparation, X-ray CT and FIB-SEM imaging, data processing, and geologic interpretation
  • Expand on computer skills, learn new software functions, and have a strong technical background


Effective communication and organization is crucial. Applicants should have a demonstrated ability to work individually in a team environment and take initiative in completing work and maintaining positive working relationships.


Education, Experience and Technical Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in geology or other earth related sciences is required
  • College level lab experience is an asset
  • A sound understanding of mineralogy and characterization of materials using SEM/ EDS analysis
  • Required knowledge of depositional environments, petrology, and rock identification
  • Ability to use all Microsoft Office applications and learn proprietary software
