March 2013: Ingrain's Joel Walls being presented Levorsen Memorial Award at next month's AAPG SWS meeting

Ingrain's Director of Technical Resources for Unconventional Reservoirs, Joel Walls, won "Best Paper" at the Southwest Section of American Association of Petroleum Geologists Convention held last September in Fort Worth. The paper, Reservoir Characterization in the Eagle Ford Shale using Digital Rock Methods, was judged to be "exceptional, using creative thinking to encourage new ideas in exploration".

Walls will be presented the 2012 A. I. Levorsen Memorial Award at the 2013 AAPG SWS meeting taking place next April in Fredericksburg, Texas.

About the AAPG:

Since its founding in 1917, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists has been a pillar of the world-wide scientific community. The original purpose of AAPG, to foster scientific research, to advance the science of geology, to promote technology, and to inspire high professional conduct, still guides the Association today.

Currently the world's largest professional geological society with over 30,000 members, AAPG provides publications, conferences, and educational opportunities to geoscientists and disseminates the most current geological information available to the general public.

AAPG supports a code of ethics for professional geologists to assure employers and clients of the integrity of its members.

The Association is guided by officers and a House of Delegates elected annually. The organization's programs are administered by an Executive Director and staff located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
