How Ingrain Computes Rock Properties and Fluid Flow Characteristics
Ingrain has exclusive license to patents from Stanford University. Working from this foundation, Ingrain's team of geoscientists, mathematicians and software engineers created breakthrough algorithms for computing rock properties from 3D images.
We have developed a multiphase lattice Boltzmann computational methodology that incorporates fluid flow properties as parameters in the computation. We can handle very large viscosity ratios, and at present can compute 2 fluids.
We compute rock properties and fluid flow on the digital capture of the fabric of the rock sample. Other firms use models to simplify the computational challenges. We solve this problem by ensuring access to on-demand supercomputing clusters that dramatically accelerate processing time for rock properties computations.
